Akespeare

Akespeare’s journey in drum and bass started in his home city of Bristol back in the early 2000s. By the time that Carasel came calling to officially draft him up to the AFT Records rosta he was already a regular feature of the South West scene, impressing promoters, peers, and party-goers alike with his positive attitude, hosting acumen, and lyrical prowess. In 2011 he moved to the Netherlands and quickly established himself as one of the top talents and most affable artists, performing right across the country at clubs and festivals and additionally securing residencies in both Belgium and Germany.  Akespeare has recently returned to Bristol after a two-year stint abroad in Canada, during which time he switched his focus from live gigs to studio recording, contributing to numerous recent releases on the ever-expanding AFT Records discography. Currently studying for a Masters in Public Policy at Bristol Uni, Akespeare has the honour of being regarded as the label’s political correspondent and lyrical playwright - two identities to which he proudly subscribes and continues to justify with his conscious writing and creative content.  He is extremely proud to be a part of AFT Records and predicts a bright future for the label and all of its artists.
